Planes, Trains, and Automobiles...

Over the last week I have been in cars, buses, trains, and now I am waiting in JFK to board a flight to Charlotte, NC. After a 4 hour layover, I will be on an overnight flight to Dublin.

Its hard to believe that yesterday I was walking through Manhattan, the day before through the Carousel mall in Syracuse, and the day before that scrubbing the floors of my apartment. From cleaning the tub with my boyfriend to ordering a turkey sandwich last night at a hotel bar last night I am nothing if not exhausted.

However emotional the good-byes have been, I am trying to enjoy the excellent people watching within in the airport terminal. Even with many adorable children running around, they can't make up for the large man that just bent over showing his rear to my face or the impatient man behind me as he tries to discipline his child.

Over the past week I am overwhelmed with the amount of love and care that has been shown towards me. My boyfriend helped me move out and clean my apartment and spent a day at the mall helping find clothes. Then proceeded to try to buy me a kelly green coat as a going away present. Thank you. My friend who drove me to the Carousel mall because I said I needed more clothes for this trip. Thank you. The family that I babysit for, for sending me off with hugs and warm wishes. Thank you. To my loving family, who have always been there for me. You sent me off with style, thank you for the food, the hugs, the company, and the love. Thank you.

This is for you. Thank you for everything. I love you. I will make you proud.

I will be boarding soon, till next time.

Almost there.

Yesterday I finished cleaning and packing up my apartment. I am now getting myself ready for my trip across the great Atlantic.
This morning, I spoke with a woman at EUSA in Dublin. She told me that she was not only jealous of my internship position but that Hot Press wanted to know if I would come with them to a festival in the heart of Dublin my first weekend. "Of course!" I said.

The festival is called "Forbidden Fruit." (http://forbiddenfruit.ie/) Usually an expensive treat for Dubliners, Hot Press will be providing a ticket to this enthusiastic intern.

Until next time,

8 more days!!!!!!

Hi!

This will be the first post of many. Right now, I am counting down the days till I leave from JFK on my way to Dublin, Ireland.

Recently I found out more specific details of my internship. I will be assisting a photojournalist at Hot Press. (http://hotpress.com/) Hot Press is known as the Rolling Stone of Ireland.

Until then, I am packing up my apartment and saying my goodbyes to friends and family.

Until next time,

Varya
